Job review from Rebecca in CANEY, KS 67333 on 04/07/23
Overall Rating:
4.8
out of 5
The only reason for the #4 rating --perhaps belongs under cleanup. While it was nice to have the entire job completed within one day, I think that may have led to some of our dissatisfaction. The replacement of the 6' x 4' concrete slab stoop was less than satisfactory. In the late afternoon we agreed to letting the foam crew come in that same day. They worked very quickly and were finished before we knew it. There are fewer holes than I expected (I counted 6) to be required, but this is certainly not our area of expertise. The holes are a bit larger (dull bit?) than were described to us. Some foam bubbled up through the crack in our bedroom floor and was barely wiped clean, leaving a very rough whitish residue behind. The holes were filled with a very loose sandy grout. Having a polished concrete floor I had hoped more care would be taken. We feel that by the time the stoop was put back in place, the foam team was just in a hurry to leave. They were to foam under the stoop, in our minds to bring it back to original position before all the shifting took place. As it sits now it is 1-1/2" below the threshold. Before drought, the threshold sat on the concrete. We realize it could not be replaced that exactly, but feel it could have been better than it was left. Communication, explanation, was just really lacking with the foreman of the void fill team. In summary, I would give the foam crew a #3 rating and all the rest #5.
Immediate response to original inquiry, very helpful in getting us started.I found the pre-job literature sent out very useful, so we could have a broad idea of various solutions.
Tobias was very professional, patient in explanations, quick and efficient in measuring, estimating and personable on top of all that. He read our concerns, concerning additional support areas perhaps required. Tobias gave us an option on the additional supports, but did not push us to go with them, when he felt they were not required to solve our problems.
Unfortunately, Richard and his crew did not get an early start. I believe this was due to a flat tire and construction traffic delays. Even so,Richard too, took his time with us, to explain what was being used and how it was done. They worked carefully to protect our ICF foundation. We could not be happier with the foundation lift. It was successful, nearly closing gaps inside and outside our home.
The crew did a very good job of replacing the landscaping fabric, gravel and river rock. They even attempted to level out the shallow tracks left behind by the track hoe. There were no piles of dirt left behind for us to contend with ( except for the ones that we said we would remove to fill in low spots on our property).
