On this Groton, CT project, we installed a new roof using IKO Cambridge Earthtone Cedar shingles. This type of shingle is made larger than other brands, to achieve the appearance of wooden shake. We think it looks great!
We finished this Groton, CT house in the spring of 2014. Here's what the homeowner had to say:
"The team at Klaus Larsen did an excellent job replacing the roof, trim, and gutters on our 1940's Dutch colonial revival. We have extremely high winds down here close to the water but the roof has held tight and dry. The team was professional and personable and we couldn't have made a better choice for a roofing contractor. Our neighbors were so impressed with the team that they hired them for their roofing project later last year as well. I have passed their name along several times to friends and family as a trustworthy, inexpensive, and detail oriented company."
This was a raised ranch with attached garage in Groton, CT. It was completed with True Def Duration Quarry Gray shingles, with SureNail strip technology. The trademark SureNail strip features “a unique triple layer of reinforcement that occurs when the fabric overlays the common bond of the shingle laminate.” These strips also require fewer nails, which mean less trauma for your decking. Three rows of 9' Ice & Water shield were installed to all of the eaves and Sythetic underlayment was installed above the Ice & Water. We also removed and reinstalled a lightning rod system.
This home in Groton had a 21 year old roof that was missing some shingles over the garage. The owners decided to replace the old roof now instead of deal with leaks in the future. Call or contact us today for a free estimate!
The owners had an old roof that was standing on its last leg. They knew they had to replace it soon or otherwise they would have real problems. It was not simple, however, because they had several old dome skylights in their porch. Skylights are an extra cost to replace and the owners didn't use them much. After our crews tore off the roof, the removed the skylights are installed new 1/2" CDX plywood over the openings. Once the skylights openings were sealed the roofing system could go over the framing.
