This home built in the 1960's, located in Salem, CT was in desperate need of a full roof replacement. It already had 2 layers of pre-existing asphalt shingles on it and was ready to be completely stripped and replaced. After the old shingles were removed, we replaced 5 sheets of plywood decking that had been rotted out from water damage. Then, we laid down Ice & Water Shield to protect the interior from any outside moisture. For shingles, we used TruDefinition Duration Shingles in the color Sierra Gray. To top it off, we removed and replaced all of the olf chimney flashing with new lead flashing.
This single-family home in Salem, Connecticut was in need of a new roof after finding pieces of their roof scattered in their lawn. After calling Klaus Larsen Roofing for a further inspection, it was determined they needed a roof replacement. After tearing off one layer of asphalt shingles, we replaced 5 sheets of damaged plywood decking. In accordance with the new building codes, we sealed all joints on the roof deck with flashing tape and installed two rows of ice & water barrier near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys, etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color National Blue. We finished the job by installing a Ridge Vent to keep consistent attic ventilation. This house is now safe and secure, thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
Klaus Larsen traveled to Connecticut's quiet corner to repair and replace this Columbia roof. Cambridge Charcoal Gray shingles were installed to compliment the bold, red paint of this house. Aesthetics are never ignored!
It was April, but there was still snow on the ground in Columbia, CT. This homeowner wanted a company that could get the job done in one day, so as to avoid any issues with weather. Along with the new roof, we installed a solar powered Fresh Air Deck Velux skylight system with remote, that closes automatically at the first sign of rain. They are perfect for contemporary homes with cathedral ceilings like this one. The OC True Def Duration Brownwood color looks great on this country property.
This Columbia, CT home had some leaking coming from the rear section of the roof. For this project we began with new plywood, followed by a layer of ProArmorShield Synthetic Underlayment, and finished with a layer of Duration shingles. The 'after' photo was taken on an afternoon with 40+ mph winds, and these shingles aren't budging a bit.
