This was was near complete failure. The wall in question is a combination of poured concrete and concrete block material. The poured section of the wall was formed horizontally on the inside, and was an "Earth Pour" on the outside, meaning the builder did not use a concrete form outside the home, but rather used the exposed dug up soil as the mold to form the concrete.
We were able to install Everbrace to permanently stabilize the wall and prevent it from moving inward and collapsing.
Longtime homeowner Arlynn in Grand Island, NE noticed that one of the walls in his basement was showing signs of wall failure. He had previously seen this happen in his other walls and wanted to fix it before the wall got worse.
Service Technician Daniel Hilkemann went out to Arylnn’s home. During the inspection, Daniel was able to identify that the wall was in stage 2 of wall failure. The crew installed three Geo-Lock Anchors to straighten the wall and provide the proper stabilization. Arlynn was impressed by the work of the crew.
Elaine K. noticed for a while that one of the walls in her garage had a crack but was never sure what caused it. Looking to keep up on her home and not wanting the crack to get worse, she knew she needed to have a contractor come out to her home. Elaine previously worked with Thrasher and knew we could help her.
Service Technician Daniel Hilkemann went out to Elaine’s home. He was able to see that street creep was causing the walls in the garage to crack. The crew installed CompressionGaurd in the driveway, which helped alleviate the pressure being applied to the garage and foundation walls. Elaine had a great experience with Thrasher’s crew and was happy that her garage walls would no longer have any problems!
These customers had no idea they had a foundation issue until they wanted to get new windows installed. The window company mentioned that they believed the cracks on the outside of the house indicated something more was going on. We found that the home's foundation was settling and to fix that we installed 13 push piers to the outside of the home.
From time to time, Ivan would get water in his basement. Then he noticed his floors were starting to sag. Worried about mold and the integrity of his home, he wanted to fix this problem, especially since he has plans to give this home to his daughter. He knew a band-aid fix wouldn't work and wanted a permanent solution. So he called Thrasher. One of our System Design Specialists, Austin Ahlf, went out to Ivan's home to figure out the root of the problem.
Upon inspection, we found that water was entering through the coal joints in the wall. On top of that, his crawl space was sagging as well. We used WaterGuard with a lateral to the sump pump to fix his water issue. We then used CleanSpace, a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier, to divert any water intrusion and channel it away from the home. And then, for his crawl space, we installed SmartJacks to lift and level his support beams back into place.
