The roof of this garage in Portland, CT began to show it's age and required a roof replacement. To begin we disposed of 3 layers of non-recyclable roofing. Next, we replaced the entire roof decking with new sheets of plywood decking. We installed a Synthetic Underlayment to repel water. For shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System using IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the Dual Black colorway. This garage was made new again thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
This family in Portland, Connecticut was in need of a new roof on both their home and their shed. After tearing off and disposing of two layers of existing roofing materials, we replaced all sheets of damaged plywood decking. In accordance with the new building codes, we were sure to seal all roof deck joints with flashing tape and install 2 rows of an ice & water barrier near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys, etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Brown. After installing a ridge vent to keep consistent attic ventilation, we finished the job by removing and replacing the existing chimney flashing with brand new lead flashing. In terms of gutters, we installed 5" heavy duty Aluminum Seamless Gutters by Englert. We finished the job by removing and replacing the existing roofing vent pipe boots with brand new Perma-Boots int he color Black. This house is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!

After taring off the dated materials, we had to do some structural repair by replacing the rotted rafter of the dormer with CDX plywood, a durable form of sheathing used specifically for roofing. The finished product you see here are True Def Duration Sierra Gray shingles from Owens Corning. Klaus Larsen only works with high-quality materials, so that you won't need any subsequent repair work down the road. This project turned out great. A neighbor was so impressed, that we ended up roofing their house right across the street!
