The attic in this Storrs, CT Colonial was stifling. We found that faulty ventilation within the old roof was to blame for an overly hot and unlivable third floor. This home also experienced serious ice dams in the winter time, which are a sure indicator of poor air flow in the roof line. We installed a new roof with improved furrings and under-gutter vents. The owner has since reported that their upstairs living space is now comfortable, even on the hotter summer days.

Along with replacing the roof, we completely removed and replaced the flashing with new lead chimney flashing. The new shingles were Owens Corning Duration, Estate Gray!

This single-family home in Storrs, CT was in need of a new roof. After tearing off one layer of existing roofing materials, we replaced one sheet of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of ice & water barrier near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Dual Black. We then installed a brand new ridge vent on all ridges of the house to keep consistent attic ventilation. This small single family home in Storrs, CT had a roof that was beginning to show signs of wear and decay. To solve this problem, we began this project by tearing off two layers of existing roofing materials, making sure to dispose of them properly. Upon inspection of the roof deck, 5 damaged plywood decking sheets were found and replaced promptly. Two rows of Ice & Water Barrier and a layer of Synthetic Underlayment were put in place in order to protect this home from the elements.
