Roof Restoration in Canterbury, CT

This Canterbury cape style house had water leakage coming in from a dormer. When winter arrived, ice dams made the problem exponentially worse. During the roof replacement we installed a thermostat controlled solar fan. Unlike standard attic fans, the VentSure Exhaust Fan is roof-mounted and does not require extra electricity to function. Ventilation is crucial in preventing ice from freezing and melting on your home. All of our jobs come with an Owens Corning Platinum Protection Warranty, so you can be assured that you and your home will be covered.

Replacing Roof with Algae and Moss in Stonington, CT

Here was a ranch home in Stonington, CT which had a lot of moss and lichen build up on its shingles. Both moss and lichen spores love to take hold and grow on the north side of trees, as well as the shady areas of roofs. Older, 3-tab shingles, like the ones used on this home, were not designed with any type of resistance to this type of fungal growth. Power washing and chemical solvents are not recommended as they will often actually take granules of asphalt off, and can even void some insurance plans! The amount of shade on this roof is still going to be conducive to moss growth, however the Owens Corning Duration shingles we install are manufactured to ward off algae.
