Homeowner Bob was worried about a foundation wall crack in his Storm Lake, IA home. Looking for a contractor to come out and look at the foundation walls, he decided to give Thrasher a call. System Design Specialist Corey Little went out to Bob’s home.
During the inspection, Corey identified that the wall was in stage 2 of wall failure. Bob noticed that the crack was getting larger because the wall lacked proper support to stop it from moving. The crew installed Geo-Lock Anchors to stabilize the wall. Bob was happy with how the anchors turned out.
These homeowners were struggling with severe sagging floors which were causing problems when they were renovating their home. When they decided to have something done about this, they gave us a call and we sent System Design Specialist Justice Haven. Justice inspected the homeowner's crawlspace as sagging floors are commonly a result of crawlspace problems, and he found that the crawlspace had a lot of water which had weakened support structures. He determined that this was due to the soil in the dirt crawlspace washing out and leaving moisture to cause problems with the structure. After discussing these problems with the homeowner, Justice designed a solution in which the crawlspace would be encapsulated and kept dry, as well as new support would be added to combat the sagging floors problem. One of our installation teams came out to this home and installed SmartJacks and supplemental support beams to reinforce and stabilize the flooring, then, they installed CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to encapsulate the crawlspace and keep it dry. The homeowners were very happy with the outcome and they were excited to have their renovation continue. Check out the newly supported crawlspace!
This home in Schaller, Iowa was in real danger of foundation collapse as the brick walls of the basement deteriorated and deflected inward - a sign that water pressure from saturated soil around the homes foundation had been building up for awhile. To prevent a catastrophic foundation event and return safety and stability to the home, we installed out new EverBrace wall support system. The customer was thrilled and relieved to have the problem fixed!
Homeowner Tamara noticed her floors were unlevel throughout the home, especially in her kitchen and living room. She had another foundation repair company come out and found that they did not listen or address the actual problem. That's when she called Thrasher. Design System Specialist Zach Hodges came out and inspected what was going on in her home. We found that her span was too wide in her crawlspace, which is what was causing her floors to sag between her existing beams. To fix the problem, we installed supplemental beams and SmartJacks between her existing beams. The SmartJack system permanently lifts and stabilizes and works in conjunction with the existing beams. This leaves a sturdy, permanent fix that actually addresses the issues that caused the floors to sag in the first place. Tamara was so impressed with our work and relieved we fixed the problem head on.
This homeowner wanted to pass his home to his brother when he passes, so he wanted to ensure that his home was in the best possible shape first. He knew of our reputation, and he had seen our commercials on TV, so he decided to give us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Mike Schmidt to inspect this homeowner's home and determine what work the homeowner wanted to have done. The homeowner directed Mike to the garage area, and Mike found that the walls of the garage had wall deflection caused by hydrostatic pressure, and the concrete had settled and cracked in the garage as well as all around the garage. Mike knew that he needed to split this project into 2 parts to ensure that the homeowner would have the best results for his home, so Mike first focused on the garage wall issue, then the concrete problem.
Mike scheduled 2 installation appointments to fix the problems for the homeowner. In the first appointment, one of our installation teams utilized PowerBraces to permanently stabilize the walls in the garage. In the the second appointment, another one of our installation teams utilized our 3-part Concrete Protection System which includes, PolyLevel foam to lift and level the concrete, NexusPro sealant to seal the cracks and joints of the concrete, and SealantPro to waterproof and seal the concrete surface area.
The homeowner was extremely happy with the results. After the installation appointments, he emailed Mike to tell him how "the concrete had never looked so good" and that he was "pleased with the projects." Check out the first installation of PowerBraces in the garage!
